Honoring those passed last night we made a Dia de los Muertos altar for the ancestors. Many candles, bright colors of flowers and leaves. We placed offerings of fruit, sweets, dinner, and drinks. All afternoon musical tunes of “la llorona” and “calacas” came through the speakers as we created the altar. Names of those passed were shared along with what we recall of them, and their names written and hung on a chandelier of branches above the altar. They had a good party. Now they go off on new adventures!
