My first impressions were that portland’s fall colors were somewhat lacking. Less vibrant, dull, nonexistent. But, there is a wonderful abundance of soft yellows. They almost glow when it is overcast, and in the sun are very nice. There are some deep reds about too, one tree with narrow leaves comes to mind. But I only have yellow for you today. The narrow streets make some nice tunnels!
Today was a gray rainy day, the clouds far off in the sky. Sometimes sprinkling water, other times emptying buckets, other times dry (but then the trees are dripping still). A day when you can bike in just a long sleeve – if you time it right. . . .

Yesterday hundreds of thousands gathered across the world demanding substantial action to address Climate Change. While Portland had several thousand gather after just 6 short weeks of planning, New York City had 400,000 marching (the largest climate rally in history).
I bring you a selection of images from our rally and march here in Portland. I hope a message here speaks to you and encourages you to take action, RAISE YOUR VOICE.
I am inspired by Citizen’s Climate Lobby, by their methods, and I believe their proposed solution is a good one. Check it out: http://citizensclimatelobby.org/carbon-tax/. Then ask any questions and learn more about our methods and goals by registering for one of our conference calls.
Heading up to the gorge one morning the hazy air made for some great skies.
I’ll have to post a little collection of halo images soon if the haze keeps up =)
